Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Association of Australasia (PPAA)
The PPAA has accredited Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training Programs in New Zealand, Qld, NSW, WA and Vic (adults) and an accredited Child Psychotherapy Training Program in Victoria. Trainings follow the traditional model and include personal therapy, supervised clinical practice, theoretical and clinical seminars and infant observation. They are intensive professional programs of 3-5 years duration, with eligibility for membership of the state member organisation, upon satisfactory completion of training. There is a requirement of substantial concurrency of personal therapy and clinical training, with some provision for recognition of prior learning.
