SUPERSHRINKS: Learning from the Field's Most Effective Practitioners
with Scott D. Miller Ph.D. NOVEMBER 2008
Recent studies now show solid empirical evidence for what distinguishes highly effective therapists from other therapists. Among other findings, the data shows that clients of the best clinicians achieve 50% or more improvement, and the best clinicians have 50% or less drop outs than those seen by average practitioners. Surprisingly, training, certification, supervision, years of experience and even use of evidence-based practices do not contribute to superior performance. Indeed, research conducted over the last 30 years documents that the effectiveness rates of most clinicians plateaus very early in training despite the fact that most practitioners believe they improve with time and experience.
In this workshop, participants will learn in detail the qualities and practices that separate the great from the good. Participants will also find out about a system of feedback procedures that can be used to develop a profile of their most and least effective moments in therapy, what works and what doesn't. Not only will attendees gain a more exact idea of their clinical strengths and weaknesses and how to use these findings to improve their own practice, they will also come away with concrete tools that give an immediate boost to clinical abilities and effectiveness.
In this entirely new training, Dr. Miller will use a combination of lecture and video case material to synthesize the latest information regarding superior performance. A variety of specific exercises will be used to build confidence and competence with procedures taught over the two days.
Advanced Client-Directed, Outcome-Informed Clinical Work Dr. Miller will also offer a one-day consultation group limited to 35 participants in Sydney and Melbourne. For more information CLICK HERE
